BRIDES:  FEEL LIKE A CELEBRITY WITH A CUSTOM WEDDING DRESS PAINTING BY ARTIST KRISTIN WOLFSON

New Orleans based Artist, Kristin Wolfson, has created a modern way to cherish your wedding dress forever.  A friend immediately thought of Wolfson when she envisioned presenting her daughter-in-law with a unique piece of artwork on her wedding day.  Wolfson coupled her creativity with her fashion design skills and knowledge of all “Good Things;” being a former assistant of Martha Stewart; to create a life sized wedding dress painting. 

The brides dream dress, Vera Wang’s “Diana”, is a work of art in itself that easily translates into a painting.  The swirling bustles of fabric in the ball gown skirt are reminiscent of a Georgia O’Keefe painting.   Wolfsons vision was to create a statement piece for the couples contemporary home at a bold 48”x60” in acrylic and oil paint.  The artist describes her wedding dress paintings as a modern twist on traditional bridal portraits. Wolfson loves the idea of this painting because it is such a beautiful and romantic memento of your wedding day and a completely unique piece of art that is oh-so-chic!

LASPCA Paws On Parade public city sculpture project; Artist Kristin Wolfson

The LA/SPCA is excited to launch a new public art celebration. Modeled after many successful New Orleans public art projects in recent years including: A Streetcar Named Inspire and Festival of Fins, this project will feature the Mardi Gras Bead Dog® (design and mold donated by Haydel’s Bakery).This iconic symbol of New Orleans' favorite holiday expresses the LA/SPCA's mission to advocate for the animals in this region. Paws on Parade will be rolling through the streets of New Orleans in 2012 from Mardi Gras through the summer.

20 Louisiana artists were selected to participate in this event and are looking for sponsorship! There are three sponsorship opportunities for Paws on Parade. Each one helps the LA/SPCA continue its mission to advocate for the homeless animals in our community. 100 Mardi Gras Bead Dogs® will be sold to individuals, businesses, organizations, and schools. I was commissioned to do a life sized painting of an amazing Vera Wang "Diana" wedding dress as a gift to a bride.  It was presented to the couple at the wedding reception and all of the guests were in awe!  I love the idea of this painting because it is such a beautiful memento of your wedding day and a completely unique piece of art that is oh so chic.  Wedding dresses are a huge investment that is worn once and then sits in your closet.  Why not turn it into a statement piece for your home?

My pet portraits start with a photo session or a highly detailed photo in the clients collection.  This photo shows the 1st step of the rendering process, which includes a highly detailed graphite drawing.  After this step I layer acrylic and then oil paint to achieve an absolutely stunning and lifelike look.

I think he likes it!  Haha

 And here is the finished product!  An amazingly lifelike and super chic painting of your pet.
